This book provides a rigorous historical study of the famous Brotherhoods of Castile and León, analyzing their origin in the antagonism between oligarchic organizations and the new municipal elements that emerged during the Middle Ages. The work also includes the ordinances of Castronuño, a historical document that remained unpublished until the publication of this text.
