«Lachende Frauen» is a catalogue of comic drawings edited by Inka Bachmann and Achim Frenz, published by Espresso in 2000.
The book brings together caricatures and humorous illustrations featuring women, with a satirical and caricatural register. The subtitle presents it as an illustrated book with comic drawings of women, and the images offer an ironic look at the female figure in the tradition of German graphic humour.
The work was published as the catalogue of the Caricatura Kassel exhibition, held from 14 April to 4 June 2000 as part of the first Kasseler Komik-Kolloquium.
It is of interest to fans of graphic humour, caricature and comics, and to readers interested in illustration and German visual culture.
