«La vida privada de Mona Lisa» is the historical novel by Pierre La Mure, published by Círculo de Lectores in hardback (385 pages, in Spanish).
It reconstructs the life of Lisa Gherardini, the young Florentine who would become the face of Leonardo da Vinci's Mona Lisa. Between historical documentation and fiction, the narrative follows this Renaissance lady, the people she knew, the two loves of her life, and the turbulent years she lived through.
Work originally published in English in 1976 under the title The Private Life of Mona Lisa; this Spanish edition is from 1977.
