«La Nouvelle Orthographe : exposé et commentaires» is the linguistic essay by André Goosse, published by Duculot in paperback (136 pages, in French).
The essay addresses French spelling reform: it presents the proposed changes, the reasons justifying them, and the author's comments, who took part in their development. Goosse responds to counterarguments and frames an often passionate debate in a broader, documented context, with a tone combining rigour and humour.
André Goosse was a professor at the Catholic University of Louvain. The edition dates from February 1991.
It is aimed at French-speaking secondary school students and anyone wishing to understand the evolution of French spelling.
