«La Dame de fer» is vol. 2 of the comic Carmen Cru by Jean-Marc Lelong, published by Editions 84 and J'ai Lu in paperback (128 pages, in French).
Carmen Cru is the protagonist: a misanthropic old woman, harsh in manner and unkempt in appearance, who lives in an old house with her cat. She has no patience with the neighbours, but the author makes such a character funny and endearing.
Second volume in the Carmen Cru series. The edition described here was published in 2000; the work originally appeared in 1993.
Recommended for students of French and for fans of European comics who want to practise the language with a short read.
