«Exploradores» is the essay by José María Bermúdez de Castro on the Atapuerca site, in Debolsillo paperback (272 pages, in Spanish).
José María Bermúdez de Castro reconstructs the history of the Atapuerca site and the work of the teams that have excavated it. He focuses on the 1994 discovery, when a Spanish team found the fossils of the first European, a milestone that changed theories about the prehistoric colonisation of the continent and opened new avenues for understanding human origins.
José María Bermúdez de Castro co-directed the Atapuerca team from 1991 alongside Juan Luis Arsuaga and Eudald Carbonell. The work belongs to the Essay | Science collection.
For readers interested in prehistory, archaeology and scientific outreach on human origins.
