«Elogio de la locura» is the satirical essay by Erasmus of Rotterdam, published by Ediciones 29 in paperback (116 pages, in Spanish).
Folly personified (Moria) takes the floor and, with irony and humour, reviews the customs and vices of the society of her time, including the Church and rulers. The work thus becomes an erudite satire on human nature and the role of reason and wisdom.
1997 edition framed in the Clásicos Ejemplares collection.
For readers of philosophy and classical satire, interested in Renaissance thought.
Desiderius Erasmus Roterodamus, commonly known in English as Erasmus of Rotterdam or simply Erasmus, was a Dutch humanist, Catholic theologian, and pioneering philologist and educationalist.
