«El vuelo del pingüino» is the novel by Fernando Echavarría, published by viveLibro in paperback (272 pages, in Spanish).
A blend of poetry and novel: Manuel, a maths teacher about to retire; Javier, who narrates his three years in Kinshasa; and Antonia, who must come to terms with her new life after winning the lottery. Manuel, Javier and Antonia, like penguins, need the warmth of others to face adversity: skilful in some environments, clumsy in others.
It is the first instalment of a trilogy. The edition, published in 2018, includes 14 illustrations.
For readers of contemporary fiction who enjoy stories of characters with a poetic tone.
