«El topo» is the spy novel by John Le Carré, published by Debolsillo in paperback (432 pages, in Spanish).
The head of the British secret services dies convinced that a mole has infiltrated the organization. George Smiley, sidelined from the service for his loyalty to the deceased, takes up the investigation on his own and delves into a tangle of clues, half-truths and conflicting loyalties in which no character is exactly what they seem.
Third instalment of the George Smiley series. The Spanish edition translates the original English Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy, published in 1974.
For readers of spy novels, political suspense thrillers and the George Smiley cycle.
David John Moore Cornwell, known by his pen name John le Carré, was an English author. Many of his espionage novels have been adapted for film or television. He has been described as a "sophisticated, morally ambiguous writer", and is considered one of the greatest novelists of the postwar era. During the 1950s and 1960s, he worked for both the Security Service (MI5) and the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6). Near the end of his life, le Carré became an Irish citizen.
