Experimentó un auge político y cultural significativo bajo los reinados de Al-Muqtádir, Al-Mutaman y Al-Mustaín II. Su legado incluye la construcción del Palacio de la Aljafería y la creación de la primera escuela filosófica andalusí, destacando la figura de Avempace, nacido en Zaragoza entre 1070 y 1080.
