«El papel de las mujeres en el cine» is the essay by Pilar Aguilar Carrasco published by Santillana Educación in paperback, with 88 pages.
The author starts from the attractive power of audiovisual narratives and analyses how they shape tastes, dreams and expectations. She argues that no viewer is immune to their messages and that interpretative criteria are needed to watch films. Focused on women, the book advocates a critical gaze: knowledge liberates.
It was published in January 2018 and its cover reproduces a strip of frames with women from different films.
For readers interested in audiovisual criticism and in the analysis of women's role in cinema from a feminist perspective.
