«El Moisés de Miguel Ángel» is Sigmund Freud's essay, published by Casimiro Libros in 2011 in paperback (64 pages, in Spanish).
Freud interprets Michelangelo's statue of Moses, kept in the church of San Pietro in Vincoli (Rome). He analyses the figure's posture and gesture to propose a psychoanalytic reading of the scene and reflects on the unconscious meanings the work condenses.
The Spanish edition has 64 pages, was published in 2011 and includes a translation by Karl Westhoffen.
A text for those who want to see the psychoanalytic method applied to a Renaissance sculpture.
Sigmund Freud was an Austrian neurologist and the founder of psychoanalysis, a clinical method for evaluating and treating pathologies arising from conflicts in the psyche through dialogue between patient and psychoanalyst, and the distinctive theory of mind and human agency derived from it.
