«El español y los siete pecados capitales» is an essay by Fernando Díaz-Plaja published by Círculo de Lectores in hardback (305 pages, in Spanish).
Starting from the seven deadly sins, the author reviews the customs and way of being of the Spanish. With anecdotes and a touch of irony, he portrays vices and social behaviours that he considers defining of the national character. The edition is presented corrected and updated, and stresses that, despite the changes, much of that substratum remains present.
Includes illustrations by Mingote; the work was published in 1969.
For readers of essays and social analysis interested in the psychology and customs of the Spanish.
