«Cours de Langue et de Civilisation Françaises» (vol. 1) is Gaston Mauger's French manual, published by Schoenhofs Foreign Books in paperback.
First volume of a French course for the first two grades of learning. It brings together reading texts, grammar points and revision exercises that consolidate vocabulary and grammar. It is not just a language method: it introduces French civilisation and closes with 'En France', a section of documents for the teacher to enliven the class.
Part of a collection published under the patronage of the Alliance française; it is completed by four other volumes: an intermediate course, an advanced course, a grammar for foreigners and a book of annotated texts.
Aimed at students of French as a foreign language and at teachers who need language and civilisation material for their classes.
Gaston Mauger was a French stage and film actor. He made around forty film appearances, including the 1932 thriller Narcotics.
