«Chichén Itzá, la ciudad de los brujos del agua» is the archaeological study by Román Piña Chan, published by Fondo de Cultura Económica in paperback.
Román Piña Chan studies the origin, movements and creations of the Itza, and analyses the architecture and rituals of Chichén Itzá. He argues that it was not the Toltecs who influenced the Itza, but rather that the latter belatedly determined certain artistic and religious conceptions in Tula.
First edition of 1980, published in Mexico within the Anthropology Works Section of Fondo de Cultura Económica; 156 pages, with bibliography (pp. 155-156).
Work of interest to scholars and enthusiasts of Mesoamerican archaeology and the debate on the relations between Tula and Chichén Itzá.
