«Américo Vespucio» is the historical novel by Miguel Betanzos, published by Edhasa in hardback (432 pages, in Spanish).
Vespucio went down in history for giving America its name, but the novel explores his lesser-known side: the diplomat who, after serving the Medici, set sail for the New World on an expedition of the Spanish Crown and later on another under the Portuguese flag, determined to document its geography, meteorology, fauna and flora.
It is part of the Narrativas Históricas collection. The edition was published in Barcelona on 4 November 2002.
For readers of historical fiction and biographical novels, especially those interested in the exploration of the American continent.
