«République Amazone» is the debut album by the collective Les Amazones d'Afrique, released in 2017 by Real World Records on CD.
The collective brings together female artists from West Africa and fuses traditional rhythms with contemporary influences. The songs address social and cultural themes with a defiant outlook and celebrate the strength and identity of African women. The cover, featuring a portrait of an Afro woman in a golden frame, reinforces that aesthetic.
The CD edition was released on 10 March 2017 and is listed in the traditional and world music category.
An album aimed at world music fans and those seeking new female voices from West Africa.
