«Capriccio Espagnol» is the album by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, released in 1984 on CD.
The CD brings together four orchestral works by Rimsky-Korsakov in which instrumental colour dominates over anecdote. Standouts include the Spanish-inspired 'Capriccio Espagnol', the evocative 'Légende de Sadko' and the 'Ouverture de La Nuit de Mai'; all performed by the Rotterdam Philharmonic under the direction of David Zinman.
Roberta Alexander takes part in the recording; the edition is a single disc and carries catalogue number 411 446-2.
For fans of classical music and the orchestral repertoire of Romanticism.
