«Best of the TV Detectives Volume 1» is a compilation of soundtracks from British detective series, released in 1994 by EMI on CD.
It brings together the original theme tunes of British detective series from the 1980s and 1990s, such as Inspector Morse, Taggart and The Bill, as well as Between the Lines, Chandler & Co., The Chief and Agatha Christie's Poirot. The selection captures the suspense and atmosphere of UK crime television, recognisable from the very first bars.
Volume 1 of this compilation; the cover combines photographs of actors from the series against an urban backdrop, with the programme listing in a lower strip.
For fans of film and television music and those nostalgic for British crime series from the 1980s and 1990s.
