«Watchmen» is Zack Snyder's 2009 film, starring Jackie Earle Haley, Malin Akerman and Billy Crudup, on DVD.
The film presents an alternative reality where superheroes are not idealised figures but characters trapped in moral dilemmas and government conspiracies. With a dark, critical tone, the story combines action and science fiction while showing the more human and ambiguous side of those who try to save the world.
NTSC format, region 1, with widescreen 2.40:1 picture and Dolby Digital 5.1 sound in English, French and Spanish. Running time: 163 minutes. Rated R (MPAA).
For adults: action and science fiction with violence and moral dilemmas, aimed at those who prefer a dark tone in the superhero genre.
