«The Wedding» is the 1998 film starring Halle Berry, on DVD.
Set in the United States in the late 1940s, it tells the story of Shelby Coles, a young African-American woman from a wealthy family, and her engagement to Meade Howell, a white jazz musician. The opposition of both families due to racial and social prejudices, the bride's doubts, and the arrival of the attractive Lute McNeil, determined to win her over, put their relationship to the test.
Runs 162 minutes, in colour and English, with a 1.33:1 image, on a region 2 (PAL) DVD; an Oprah Winfrey production based on the novel by Dorothy West.
A choice for fans of romantic drama with a social backdrop and literary adaptations.
