In 1947, Dr. Faraday is called to attend to a patient at Hundreds Hall, where his mother once worked. The estate, which has belonged to the Ayres family for over two centuries, is now in a state of alarming decay. Its inhabitants—the mother, her son, and her daughter—are haunted by something far more terrifying than their financial decline, drawing them into an atmosphere of mystery and psychological horror.
