The Canterbury Tales, directed by Pier Paolo Pasolini, is the second part of his acclaimed 'Trilogy of Life'. This cinematic work adapts the 14th-century stories of Geoffrey Chaucer, diving boldly into the darkest and most mischievous tales of classical literature. With a distinctive visual style and a British cast including Hugh Griffith and Jenny Runacre, Pasolini offers a provocative, humorous, and deeply human vision of the medieval era, with the director himself playing the role of Chaucer.
This DVD edition features a high-quality restoration that captures the essence of Pasolini's original vision. It is an essential piece for lovers of auteur cinema and literature, offering a unique visual experience that combines raw realism with the narrative magic of the original tales.
