«Pleasantville» is the film by Gary Ross (1998), starring Tobey Maguire, Reese Witherspoon and Jeff Daniels, on DVD.
David, a young man from the nineties obsessed with a fifties television series, and his sister are transported into the black-and-white world of Pleasantville. Their arrival alters the apparent perfection of the place: colour breaks through and individuality begins to challenge the rigid norms of that idealised community.

Suitable for all ages, it is a visually original fable about difference and change, with a fifties aesthetic.
