«Platoon» is Oliver Stone's war film (1986), starring Charlie Sheen, Tom Berenger and Willem Dafoe, on DVD.
In the midst of the Vietnam War, young volunteer Chris Taylor arrives at the front and discovers the harshness of jungle combat. There he lives alongside soldiers marked by violence and two sergeants who embody opposing ways of understanding war, in a portrait of dehumanisation and the conflict's moral dilemmas.
The film won four Academy Awards, including Best Picture. This special MGM edition (PAL) includes audio in English, French and Italian (5.1) and runs about 115 minutes.
It is intended for adult viewers interested in war films and is not recommended for those under 16.
