«Nostalgie de la lumière» is the documentary film by Patricio Guzmán, released in 2010, published by Pyramide Vidéo on DVD.
The documentary links the observation of the sky in the Atacama Desert with the memory of Chile: while astronomers study distant galaxies, relatives search for those who disappeared during the Pinochet dictatorship. Guzmán reflects on time, light and the need for answers, connecting the cosmos with the wounds of the earth.
The DVD offers 90 minutes of footage, colour image 1.77:1 and sound in Spanish Dolby Digital 5.1 and 2.0. It was an official selection at Cannes 2010 and awarded by the European Film Academy.
