L'Atalante is a 1934 French film directed by Jean Vigo. The plot follows Juliette, a young woman newly married to Jean, the captain of the barge L'Atalante. Together, they embark on a journey through the French canals, accompanied by the peculiar crew: the First Officer, an older man named Jules, and a young cabin boy. As they progress, Juliette feels trapped by life on the boat and longs for the excitement of the city, which causes tensions in her marriage.
