«Las Cruzadas» is the film by Cecil B. DeMille starring Loretta Young and Henry Wilcoxon, on DVD.
A historical cinema blockbuster that recreates the Crusades with spectacle and little accuracy. Inspired by the novel by Harold Lamb and centred on Richard the Lionheart, it moves the action to the First Crusade and combines romance with Berengaria and war against Saladin. The Battle of Acre brought together ten thousand extras.
DVD edition from the Cinema Universal Classics collection, published by Universal in 2010. The film was nominated for an Oscar in 1936. Region 2.
For fans of classic Hollywood cinema and the great historical epics of Cecil B. DeMille.
