«La roca» is the documentary by Raúl Santos (2013), released by Cameo on DVD, about the relationship between Spain and Gibraltar.
The documentary narrates the coexistence between Gibraltar and the Spanish city of La Línea, broken in 1969 when Franco ordered the border closed. The population, which shared work, weddings and bilingual families, remained separated for years; the film presents this story as an impossible love between two territories declared enemies.
The DVD has audio in Spanish and English (Dolby Digital 2.0) and subtitles in both languages. It lasts 85 minutes and was awarded best European documentary at the Seville Festival 2011.
Suitable for all audiences; recommended for those who want to approach the recent history of the border between Spain and Gibraltar.
