In 1950s Estonia, Endel, a young fencing champion, flees his past in Leningrad and takes refuge in Haapsalu, where he starts working as a teacher. There, he founds a sports club for his students, becoming a father figure for them, most of whom are orphans due to the Russian occupation. Endel transmits his passion for fencing to them, which becomes a form of expression and a role model. However, his success awakens the jealousy of the school principal, who investigates the teacher's background, leading him to a crossroads where he must choose between protecting his students or risking his own life. A story of overcoming, passion and redemption in a complex historical context.
