«Happiness» is the film by Todd Solondz starring Jane Adams, Dylan Baker and Philip Seymour Hoffman, on DVD.
An ensemble dramedy that interweaves the lives of several people in contemporary United States: a dysfunctional family, neighbours and acquaintances whose daily routines hide unconfessable desires, loneliness and frustration. With black and uncomfortable humour, Todd Solondz portrays social hypocrisy and the difficulty of finding happiness without softening any of its edges.
Approximate running time of 144 minutes, with audio in Spanish and English (Dolby Digital 2.0), subtitles in Spanish and English, and distribution by Aurum Producciones.
Not recommended for viewers under 18; for audiences with a taste for black humour and cinema that unsettles.
