In 1917, two English cartographers arrive at a Welsh village to draw up the country's new map. When they measure the hill the locals consider their first mountain and classify it as a mere hill, the whole village mobilises to prove them wrong. Amid misunderstandings and the growing affection between the outsider and a local young woman, the visit transforms the community's life.
