In the 16th century, the Knights of the Order of Malta presented Charles I of Spain with a valuable statuette of a golden falcon with embedded precious stones, as a sign of gratitude for the prerogatives granted. However, the jewel never reached its destination, as the galley transporting it was assaulted by pirates. Four hundred years later, private detective Sam Spade and his partner Archer accept the assignment of a young woman to find her sister, who has disappeared with a man of dubious reputation. This film, directed by John Huston, is a classic of film noir starring Humphrey Bogart and Mary Astor.
