Tyler Gage, raised in the most dangerous neighborhoods of Baltimore, has little hope of getting ahead. After an incident with the law, he is sentenced to community service at the Maryland School of the Arts. There he meets Nora, a dancer who is looking for a replacement for her injured partner before the Senior Exhibition. Nora sees Tyler's natural talent and decides to take a chance on him. As they train, the tension between them and their different backgrounds creates conflict. Tyler dreams of escaping the streets, and Nora needs the Senior Exhibition to secure her future. Both will have to prove that they can overcome their obstacles and aspire to a better life than they imagined.
